Meet Benny R. Kinsey

Hi there! I'm Benny, and I’m excited to be running for a seat on the Klein ISD School Board of Trustees, Position #4. But before we dive into the serious stuff, let me tell you a little about who I am beyond the resume.

Let me start by saying I'm a proud Texan through and through. Growing up in Waco, Texas, I learned the importance of hard work, community, and, of course, a great BBQ! After 25 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Army, where I had the honor of leading some of the finest men and women in the country, I retired as a Command Sergeant Major. But don’t let the rank fool you—I’m just as quick to share a laugh as I am to get down to business. In 2010, after retiring from the military, I made the move to the Greater Houston Area, where I've happily planted my roots - Go 'Stros!

For the past eight years, I've proudly called Klein ISD home, where I've lived, worked, and watched my stepson graduate from this outstanding district. My wife, a proud graduate of Klein High School, and I have deep roots here, with two relatives currently working in the district. For the last three years, I've also had the privilege of serving as the President of the Inway Oaks Estates HOA. Our family is fully invested in this community, and now I'm ready to step up and offer my service to help Klein ISD continue to grow into an even better, safer educational environment for our students, faculty, administration, and community members.

When I'm not working or hitting the books for my Executive MBA at Texas A&M (Gig 'em!), you’ll find me cheering on my favorite sports teams, spending time with my family, or volunteering with organizations that support Veterans. I’m passionate about giving back to the community that has given me so much, and I believe that together, we can make our schools a place where every student can thrive.

As your candidate for the Klein ISD School Board, I’m bringing not just experience, but a big heart and a genuine love for this community. I’m here to listen, to learn, and to lead with transparency and integrity. Let’s make our schools stronger and more successful, all while having a little fun along the way!

So, whether you see me at a local event or out and about in the neighborhood, don’t hesitate to say hello. I’m always up for a good conversation—especially if it’s about how we can make our schools the best they can be.
